Greencupboards.com

I recently did a posting about the Human Services Household Products Database where consumers can search for information about their household products.  Now I’ve come across another great resource for eco-friendly products, GreenCupboards.com.

All of the products on this site have been tested and certified by the company based on five criteria; ingredients, toxicity, efficacy, manufacturing processes, and packaging.

Currently the list includes certified kitchen, bathroom and laundry products.  Green nursery and pet care supplies will be added later this year with personal care, cosmetics, lawn and garden and recreation room goods to follow.

Shoppers can purchase the certified items in bulk or per-item basis in standardized or customized Cupboards.

The company also plans on donating 1% of its pre-tax profits to non-profit organizations promoting a cleaner, self-sustaining environment.

What’s in your household products?

Published by Linda under Cleaning Products

Ever wonder what is in your household cleaner? Now you can with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Household Products Database.

This is a great resource for consumers to learn more about what is in their favorite products from; household cleaners, pet care, personal care, auto care, arts& crafts, pesticides, lawn care, and more.

Products can be searched by name, manufacturer, or ingredients. There is also a “Health Effects” tab where the Material Safety Data Sheets for the product are listed along with information on product’s acute and chronic health effects, carcinogenicity (cancer), and first aid steps.

I will definitely be looking up my products.
