With U.S. sales down 18% from last year (trucks are down 23% while the Dodge Grand Caravan minivan is down 37% so far this year) Chrysler has launched their “Let’s Refuel America” campaign good from May 7th through June 2nd. Customers can lock in the price of gasoline at $2.99 a gallon for 3 years when they purchase certain models of Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep brand autos.

With the average gas price continuing to increase to almost $4 a gallon this sounds pretty inviting right? Not if you consider the fact that the average Dodge Ram pickup gets a whopping 16 miles per gallon. And let’s face it, American cars are not known for their fuel efficiency. I think I’ll stick with my Toyota for the next 5 years.
